Make sure that the plastic cylinder thinger is pointing up and down so the trans shifter can slide in correctly, then you just have to push down the springy-locking collar thingy down and onto the tabs and put the rubber cover back on ;)

The shifter has a thin section at the bottom,
thin faces sides, you didn't forget to have the
spring and the metal bayonet cup on the shaft
before the extension was welded on did you ???

The bayonet cup pushes down and turns clockwise
to lock, wear gloves if you can, as this has semi
sharp edges and could cut/slice your fingertips

That should help I hope

Ya turn hard, that's why I said gloves,
it felt like I was going to have cut finger
tips when I finished mine.

Also I have an Automatic Trans, so I
only did the T-case, as the auto has
a cable and needs no extension on it

yep, its one of those push in, and turn kinda locking things.

i had a mate push down, and i had a couple of flat head screw drivers to turn it and lock it in.

same with transfer.

That kind of attachment is called
a Bayonet mount, kind of like your
Light Bulbs  Mate    ;)

Good to hear you got them back in
So .......  How does it work ???

I couldn't get mine to turn either. The bayonets are just some fancy bolts that screw in from the front and back of the turret. I backed mine out, pushed the cup down (lined up with the holes) and tightened up the bolts again. I did notice the bolts were Loctited but they haven't fallen out yet, 18,000 miles later ;D ;D
