Milemarker Locking Hubs? Any good?
« on: June 23, 2008, 08:38:21 PM »
Anyone know anything about Milemarker hubs from autozone?  I need to replace mine and these are cheap... anyone know about them?  Or should I spend the extra$ and get Warns from lowrange?

Ever consider just getting used ones?

If you go with big tires, I believe there's lockers with mechanical fuses in them. Tney're designed to "break" before other more critical components do, and the fuses are small & cheaper than a new axle / diff / t-case

I have 2 sets of stock samurai asain hub's.

2 of them are fresh off my sami.
The other 2 are not a fresh looking, they were just my back up pair.  They just need to be cleaned up and lubed up.

With a couple of gaskets the Sammy hubs should work on a Sidekick.  I would also try giving Hawk Suzuki a call.  They usually have a pretty good selection of used parts.

You would need a gasket and some cone washers i believe.

well i got the hub off and the spring was totally jacked up.  i guess this is why it would not engage.  I tried to fit it back together but it looks like it is fried. I also wish you could buy the springs after market... oh well. used hubs here i come....
