Rocky-Road Lift Pics

I haven't decided yet if I'm going to install the body lift, I'll wait to see if the springs start to sag or if I'm having clearance problems...here are a few pics of the Sunrunner with the Rocky-Road 2.5" suspension lift.

Here is the before...these tires were rubbing everywhere and they're only 235's  :o

Doetsch Tech rear shock and the rear spring/spacer


The ride is firm but not as harsh over sharp bumps as the stock suspension. The Sunrunner feels very level in sharp cornering. The nose doesn't dive as much under heavy braking either. I hope to take it off road this weekend and I'll let you guys know how it works out :)

i wish my vitara looked as smooth and clean as yours.

anyway, looking nice. hope to see some trail pics soon.

p.s, has you taken off the (anti) sway bar from the front?

Looks good, the only problem is, IT"S NOT DIRTY ;D Let us know if you have any rubbing when you run it off road this weekend 8)

Awesome.. Looks just like mine with the 2" body lift. Dont mean to pry. Did it cost a bunch of cash to get that lift up to Canada?  And who did you order it through?.  Did it take long to get here?  Im just curious, I dont know if my springs or struts are bagged but i got some nasty nose dive when i hammer on the binders.  I got a quote for Struts. $350 and 150 for springs..  I figure, if im going to spend that kind of money I may as well spend the extra couple of hundred bucks and get a lift.  Now that youve been driving it for a bit longer, any diffrences or comments about the ride?  Thanks .

93 Sidekick 2Dr.  2"body lift.  30" Tires. 1.5" Coil spacers. 4 door coils. 2"strut spacers. K&N Factory replacement filter. 2.25" Cat back, with glass pack.  Custom ground High torque Cam shaft. And CB for talkin trash.

I ordered it from Rocky-Road Outfitters (one of the site sponsors) It ended up costing about $1100 Canadian including shipping.

So far I like the ride, it is firm but not bone jarring. Also note that I had the heavier springs because I do tow a trailer on occasion. With softer springs it would be a real nice ride I'm sure :)

Just for schmuck and grinns.
When shipping something  to Canada and you live close to the boarder would it work to have a P.O. box in the U.S.?
Or maybe someone living on the boarder.
I'll also guess U'all Canucks probley don't live close to the boarder?
Just a thought maybe someone in the U.S. could run interferance?

as a j-body guy (Cavalier Z24) we used to get J-body performance stuff shipped to us in the U.S. and then our Canadian buddies would cross the border and either pick it up or we'd install it in mine or a friends driveway.

Actually if its shipped via USPS then the charges aren't too bad...UPS on the other hand will leave your butt sore. There are a few freight forwarding companies as well that are great if the US company offers free shipping to the "lower 48"...just  get it shipped to them and they send it across the border cheap :)

well it's possible to get a po box in the states to have stuff shipped to, but that's also a added cost. your mostly killed on the dollar exchange, and taxes.

i ordered the calmini 3" lift with the steering stabilizer direct from calmini. including shipping the bill us from calmini was $1100 at the time when i ordered the kit the dollar exchange rate was x1.34 so that equaled $1475 now come taxes on that figure. living in bc we pay two taxes 7% federal, and 7.5% provincial now that comes to $1687 canadian with ups brokerage fees my landed cost after exchange rate, taxes, and brokerage fess totaled me $1725.50 canadian  :o

one could try to sneak around the laws a bit, but if you get cought you'd get barried in fines. so when you yanks complain about $900 for a lift, us canucks say cry me a river, cause you have no idea what it's like to deal with it on our end. oh and canada is mostly populated along the 49th bordering the states.

but when i checked to see what a local shop could sell me the exact kit for, they wanted $2400 cdn then there is the dreaded 14.5% tax on top of that, so i did save big bucks  ;D
