Engine Seized after Replacing Intake Manifold Gasket -
« on: July 09, 2008, 03:44:24 PM »
I just replaced my intake manifold gasket. It does not appear that anything has fallen into my engine while replacing the gasket. I went to start it and it would not turn over. I took the manifold off and tried to start it again still the same only a click and then a whine where the starter was frying trying to turn the engine over. I then tried to turn the engine with my wrench like I do when I adjust the valves. It won't turn...nothing. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. - Thor

you may be vapor locked, if so pull out plugs see if it will turn over if not as a last resort try some deep creep by see foam it says it will unseize an engine.

excellent. There was indeed water in there and it shot out. I  cranked it a bit. Now letting it dry. Thanks a million you just saved me from having to remove the head. - Thor

Sounds like coolant got into the cylinders when
you took the manifold off.

Yep I did not drain the radiator before hand. I was trying to seal up a leak, but the manifold is still leaking air.
