Finally got my Rocky Road +2'' body lift on.  Nothing special, but I did it all by my self. Let me know what you guys think

I plan to do a similiar setup to my Tracker soon...Are you running 15x7's or x8's?

Thanks!   The wheels are a discount tire special    Kreger Nomard II  2.75 offset (I think)  15x10   (they were only 25bones a peice so could not pass it up)

That looks killer! The Bull bar is what makes it. Hey I just bought some 235/75 General Grabber AT2's and i want to put that two inch lift on. It's a rocky road and i'm just wondering if you could give me a few pointers on any complications you might have ran into. I've been told that they are easy and also that they are a huge PITA. Just wonderin if I could get some input. Thanks man, and the lift looks bad. I got a 93 all black, herculined entire enterior, and I think that lift would take it up another notch.

Thanks for the compliment!  The Rocky road lift is VERY easy.  This is the first project I have done with no guidance and no one watching my back to make sure I dont screw anything up.

First thing I recommend is Not doing it by yourself.  Its very smart to have someone looking to make sure wires and cables aren't stretched to far or snagged.(I almost learned the hard way)  other than that big pointer I put RTV black around all my body blocks and gas inlet hose,  Locktite around all of the bolt treads, use plenty of PB blaster on EVERY bolt when doing the disassembly.  I used this website for a reference

If you have any other questions just do a search or ask (there is alot more people on here that know Way more than I do)....Hope that helped a little

Great job! I just got my RR body lift in the mail.  I have to say the directions leave much to be desired!  I was planning on using the guide on Ack's FAQ but after looking at BDS's directions I have more questions... like, did you have to trim your fan shroud?

Also, where did you get that brush guard?  Thanks!

Thanks!    The RR instructions  :laugh:.    The only help the RR instructions gave me is when I wadded them up to plug my gas inlet hose.   
I really dont know why the BDS instructions called for you to cut the fan shroud. I never cut mine, and did not see why you had to.  Just make shure you check EVERYTHING   make sure Nothing is snagged, cut, broke, or stretched to the limits.   If I can do this lift by my self then Anyone can, Its very easy just start wrenching.(use your head of course)

as for brush guard,  I snagged it off this guys^^ Toyota and painted it black ;D  looked better on the GEO anyways..  I have no idea of the make or model of the brush guard,  Sorry

The BDS directions didn't make sense on the fan shroud since the radiator isn't moved, so you can ignore that.  I raised mine by myself and luckily didn't have any mess ups.  Used a floor jack and a 2x6 under the body to raise each side.  Things to watch are the front brake lines, and the brake lines going to the rear on the left side.  Watch anything that attaches to the firewall from the engine. 

Biggest thing for me was the shifters.  I extended the transfer case shifter 2" and that works fine.  I thought I could tweak the trans shifter and finally cut, bent and welded it and it works ok, although the boot now sits below the console and sometimes it pops out of 2nd gear. I don't have a torch so I couldn't heat it and bend it, but the lever is rubber isolated on mine and could have become a stinking mess.

The rear plastic bumper shroud was fun.  Some bolts wouldn't budge and if you grind them the plastic melts.  But it and the front one weren't going back on so not a problem for me.

Hope this helps, it took me about 3 hrs to do mine.

thanks for the input. I got the rear bumper off fine... sanded and painted the inner bumper flat black.  I don't think the original will go back on.  BTW, I had trouble with those rear bumper bolts as well.  I looked at the front bumper briefly before running out of time and could not figure out how it is mounted.  I guess I will have to do some forum digging.  Reading over the directions, it is not clear why you need rtv on some of the lifts blocks and not others. I am guessing it will make sense once i get in there. 

One thing I noticed is that the original dust boot on the transfer case shifter had worn through... I guess I will have to add that to the list of parts I need from the suzuki dealership order. I am having a hard time finding some obscure parts including the snap ring for the end of one of the splines (front). The guy at suzuki told me to check with chevy as Geo's were more common in these parts than sidekicks... 

I just had my cj wheels painted black and am looking forward to getting the tires and wheels on this weekend.  I am in desparate need of an alignment since the camber is crazy off.  I am hoping that will not be an issue.

One other thought is that I really want to do a tank lift with my 2" body lift.  If you guys have any ideas I would love to hear em.  Seems like the only known way to lift the gas tank is on a 3" body lift...  Oh well for now!
