I have ben doing a little reading on this (Propane Injection) and it has me very interested.

has anyone ever messed around with this setup or knows the troubles of building the kit?

Can it be set up to work fuel injection?

I've seen it work with fuel injection. They love pane on Pirate - I'm looking into it myself. Looks like about a $700 kit + bottle.

My understanding is that Propane = LPG? I've driven a few LPG cars. Fuel consumption isn't quite as good, neither is power but LPG is very cheap over here compared to petrol. I considered it for the Vit a few years ago but it would have taken a lot of miles to recover the installation cost and I didn't want to lose the load space. I'm surprised by their claims of big power increases.

The more I read about this, the more interested I get.  Would you guys say this would be a foolish upgrade? or downgrade?           
I still haven't found the performance specs. with this swap.  I have a 1.6 16valve with 116k miles  that leaks alittle oil  and very little smoke on startup.       let me know what you guys think     the credit card hand is getting anxious .

Like Rhinoman said, you will loose a little bit of power.  The main reason everybody loves the propane injection is you then have a pressurized full system.  As long as you have an oil pump that can run upside down your engine will never stall.  Perfect for those off angle crawling maneuvers. 

You gain a little in bottom end torque, but loose it up top. Propane doesn't go bad, and if you like turbos.... propane is like running 108 octane.

I have found a farmer out west that uses nothing but propane on ALL his tractor, lawn mowers, Daily driving vehicles, ect and he said he would never go back to gas. Im not sure yet If I made up my mind on this injection swap. I was just looking to get this swap for the fuel cost and availability, as well as wheeling performance. 
I have just knowticed that oil has droped 14bones per. barrel, Im thinking we should see at least thirty cents droped in a few weeks. (dont quote me on this ) sooo maybey this project will go into the gearing fund.

He’s very knowledgeable about propane kits.
I bought the Samurai kit from him and it works great!
I’ve got it hooked up to a 1.6 8v with a turbo. 
He even answered all my dumb questions without mocking me and even helped me with issues that had nothing to do with his kit.
Propane has less btu’s per gallon than gas, therefore it will not get the same gas mileage.
Properly tuned it can produce the approximately the same horsepower.  And with a turbo, it can easily outperform an equivalent gas engine due to the high octane rating of propane.  If you already have a properly operating fuel injection system, I don’t think there is any advantage to a propane system.  Especially if it’s a daily driver…propane is definitely less convenient to buy (you can’t have a propane tank filled at night).

everytime i go to get my BBQ tank filled, i have to wait for them to finish pumping gas into peoples cars b4 they come fill my tank, sometimes it takes 10-15 minuits

Not many jobs in Oregon. They needed to create some. Yes - really.

And, if I go propane, I plan on going dual-tank so I won't have to fill up as often / I can do it when I have an extra couple min to have someone come out and fill up the tank.
