If you're putting in new t-case gears, you can modify the shift pattern to an "H" or "?" or something (can't remember). It's a matter of removing or cutting off a ball detent of some kind.

Anyway, the point of this is to give you 2wd LOW in your transfer case. This way, you lock up your hubs, and control if you want 2wd or 4wd from the shifter. When you're normally wheeling, you don't want to be in 4wd anyway, as the weakest links in our drivetrain are in the FWD. When you're having trouble getting over an obstacle, shift to 4wd low, and roll over it. Shift out when done.

The BEST thing to do is get a selectable (ARB) locker up front, but that's $1000. The split shift H or ? thing is free.

No doubt! It's just like a dana 300. 2 and 4 hi and low. I had a scout with the Dana 300 and it was great.

Can you use the 2 low on the road? Let's say I'm pulling a little trailer that has an abnormal load on it and I want to start in 2 low then shift up to high after I getr' up the hill, can you shift on the fly like that? That would be to bad!
