There were about 175 trucks registered at the Melt this year.  We had a few rain showers, and one massive rainstorm on Saturday morning.  The storms probably lasted no more than an hour or two each day, and other than that, the weather was great.  The Saturday storm flooded the Steam Corner Campground to about knee deep on the flats on both sides of the creek.

The wheeling was great as usual.  Not many people ran Orange because it was just a muddy mess.  The night runs were great (we didn't hit a tree this year...).  Our group ran the old tow path trail (over the railroad ties), and barbed wire 2.  We only had to get pulled out of two mud holes.  I heard that another group made a high speed run down the creek below the tubes.

The Rock Rage was a tough course.  It was on the opposite side of the quarry from last year, starting down near the pond.  ...stopped or broke a lot of trucks...

Hope you can make it next year, it will be the tenth Zukimelt...

Sounds like fun. The rain each day was probably a good thing to keep the heat and dust down a little  8) I have missed it the last 4 years, but will have my ride back and be able to make it next year (I'm hoping).
