02 Sensor

02 Sensor

I have been chasing down why my Samurai has a dead spot in the throttle. today I unplugged the 02 Sensor and it did not change the way it runs.
If the 02 Sensor was good, wouldn't it have changed the way it performs when I unplugged it ?

Not always, is it an EFI or carby sammy??

Dead spot is most likely the TPS, if it was running rich then
suspect the O2

I do not have a tach so I do not know what RPM this is happening at but would say somewhere around 2000 RPM. It seems to run better in the cool mornings than it does in the warm afternoons. It will run wide open and then cruise pretty good after getting up some speed.
Just to be clear, TPS is, Throttle Position Sensor?

Yes on the TPS. Have you checked the fuel filter?
easy to replace and can create dead spots when it's
plugged with dirt under high loads

Yes, I have replaced the fuel filter. I have also replaced the Plugs, Wires, Cap, and Rotor.
I originally thought it was bad fuel, that is why I changed the filter and also added gas dryer. I have not noticed any difference in the operation of the engine after installing each item.
I do think though that it might run better in the morning on my way to work compared to the afternoon coming home from work.
When I unhooked the 02 Sensor and it did not effect the way it ran, sort of made me wonder if the 02 was bad.
