wrangler leaf springs on Samurai
« on: July 22, 2008, 04:08:21 PM »
I picked up some wrangler leafs. Is it worth putting them on my 86 sammy? What kind of lift will it give and do I have to do any fabbing?

Some people are like Slinkies...
Not really good for anything,
But they still bring a smile to your face when
you push them down a flight of stairs.

Thats the worse swap you can do, better send them springs to me and I will dispose of them for you.

Thats a good swap. TT, Sky and AAPA all sell kits. TT's is a complete kit while Sky's you do have to source other parts the same with AAPA's kit. AAPA's kit a weld on SR style kit. Kinda depends on how much you can do yourself, when I start picking up parts I will be getting the parts from AAPA.

I went yj springs all around on my 88 sammy, along with 33s i think i sit some where around 10" higher but dont quote me on that i never measured before and after to find out, took me about two days to get them in. with that kind of lift so youll need bigger tires and as soon as you can after the tires get 6.5 to 1 gears in the t-case

YJ leaf springs
4 pack front
5 pack rear
Sky YJ kit front and rear
34x10.5 LTB's

I did get rid of the missing links and extended my frame because i could fit a toy power steering box.
Just a heads up if you want to run a toy box.

All California zuks are rust free... It was rolling on 8" white spokes and the tags were clean. I asked 5 different local zukers before someone took it away.  AND then gas went thru the roof. Wish I still had it now.... ::)
