can i use a jdm sidekick track motor in me sammy???

since its hard for me to find a used 1.6 16 valve  motor in my part of the country i was just wonder if i  just buy a used jdm motor sidekick trakker motor of the net if it wld be a direct bolt in if u do have a tranny adapter plate? I wanting to put a 1.6 16 valve in my 88 zukie i need to figure out the wireing to runn this motor like do i use a sidekick harness???? or do i have to build a harness or wat parts do i need to run this jdm motor or any other 1.6 16valve out of a side kick tracker and wats the years can i find these motors in ?  thanks for any input

You will need an adapter and computer, just as if you pulled the engine out of a Tracker.  You might also need a distributor, as some of the JDM engines come without one.  Trail Tough should be able to give you a price on the kit needed to drop it in.  :)

aftermarket4x4 is using a turbo-charged JDM in his sami right now, so it can be done. Technically JDM engines are illegal to use on the street in California... but most SMOG technicians don't pay that much attention. If it looks stock, they don't think to check the block #

well i live on the mean streets of new mexico and smog is not prob haha but good deall i think it it wld be wrth spending the money on it cuz of low miles and jdm motors seem to have a lil more power the the u s counter part..

Most are low mile. There's no guarantee.

well IM running 2 jdm motor s in my both my hondas one of them i built a harness for is there any web site i can get the wiring diagram to build a harness to or the how to's on it ?  Or is there any one on here that has a 1.616valve motor in a carburated sammy and has pics on how the install went ????

I would consider getting a wiring harness from a Track/Kick and then stripping it down. That way you get all the proper connectors.
