South Africa gets the Jimney
« on: September 03, 2008, 01:26:30 PM »
Found this review talking about the "newly relaunched Jimney" for the South African market.  To bad they still haven't brought it into the US...

Quote
Suzuki has brought back South Africa’s favourite small 4X4, but is the Jimny worthy of the Samurai sword of honour?

The Suzuki South Africans have the fondest memories of was the old SJ series and Samurai models. Though on-road ability was at best utilitarian and generally quite tiresome, off-road these tiny, box-shaped, 4X4s were adept at usurping much larger, fancied 4X4s on challenging trails.

Wouldn't these look great with HUMMER badging?  You know, rather than GM just selling the whole shebang, how about they retool the brand into a hard core, yet "responsible" off-road machinery marque.

Just musing/pining.

That's a real damn shame you can't get the good stuff here.

Shipping and customs paperwork would probably cost more than the vehicle!

Oh man, I love it. No offense to any SX4 fans, but I'd much rather have this than an SX4. Why doesn't Suzuki offer this in the United States? I'd buy one.
