help me figure some wiring out (81 LJ80)
« on: September 29, 2008, 02:15:11 PM »
piecing together this toy, was a 800 cc now a 1.0L

pic 1 there is a wire that comes off the condenser by the ignition coil.  would any ground do or does it go somewhere specific?

pic 2 is a clip that goes nowhere.  comes out of the harness right with the other ignition wires, but has it's own sheating.  couldnt find anywhere for it to go

pic 3 is a solenoid on the carb.  where does it go? not on the print

pic 4 is a wire that comes form the alternator, but on the print it's supposed to be a 30Afuse.  would it be a good idea if I replaced it with a fuse holder?

pic 5 is a clear tube from the transmission, and one from the firewall.  do they go together?

Come and join us at LJ10.com and post this same thread. Those two clear tubes went to the original distributor cap to cool and keep the points dry. BTW, that exhaust manifold came from me.

anyone?

Does it have vacuum actuated wipers? Maybe that is what's going on there. I think you should just send the rig down here to my shop for further inspection and use! :)

I'd like to Eric, but it's hard for me to ask what I need for it without knowing it runs.  I bought it off a guy whose word I took cause he's been around our club.  Good reputation.  I need the center shaft in so I can piece the tcase and shafts in, then run some new brake lines to see if it drives.  I got $2400 into it, if you want it, come and get it.  also has hard doors, spare axles, the original motor tranny, sj t-case, more parts.

I have a 410 FSM here, the carb looks the same. Has the solenoid got a black/wire with a white tracer? It looks like its just wired into the 12V ignition switched circuit.
Couldn't see the pics on the works PC because it blocks access to stuff like Photobucket.
