so I'm finally ready to tackle this head gasket my rigs a 98 16 valve 1.6 liter two door auto no a/c
so does any one have a good write up i have the fact service mags and the Hines which i was told was wrong on top dead center so any one have any knowledge of a write up or any expertise on this subject ??????????????  I'm a Lil afraid as this is the furthest Ive ever broken down this engine I have the gaskets and a good torque wrench also the timing belt and water pump but i feel I'm forgetting something... what else .........???

I Think the Head Bolts are tty bolts so you may need to buy some.
1987,1988,1988,1990 samurai's,  1953 m38a1,  1996 x-90,blue.1996 x-90 red.1994 2 door tracker.   only Dead Fish go with the flow.                No Hairy Nosed Wombats were ran over on the trail today.       My ZUK is Xenophobic.

I just finished mine and there are a few things you will need.  I used anti seize on all of my bolts, you will need a head gasket kit ($100), you may need a timing cover so check if yours is good, throw in a new thermostat since the coolant will be drained and you will have the gasket.  The most important thing is to locate a nearby shop that works on heads as you will want to get yours checked and the exhaust valves are probably toast
