Transfer case questions
« on: October 12, 2008, 07:26:30 PM »
It is to my understanding that in order to install a 4.24:1 transfer gear set you required at least a 91 t case! Is this correct? My 89 case will not work? What is the difference? How can I tell the case is at least a 91? Any help would be appreciated and if this has been posted before I appoligize!

I have the 6.5 to 1 in my early 88 model with the small flang without problems, but the late 88 and newer is a better t case.

If your asking about sidekick then yes you are right there is something about the early model case that doesn't work. I don't remember the specifics but I do remember buying a newer case for my 89 sidekick because the gears did not work.
