Currently, I'm stepping up to 225/75-16 MT's. Should be in soon. This equates to 29.3" tall, 8.9" wide. This tire is ~1" larger than my current tires (225/70) with same width so interference shouldn't be too much of a problem. About the only place I see intereference is the front portion of the front splash well. I seem to have better than 1/2" on the back side of the front tire and plenty room in the rear, although full compression something could rub.
I played around last night with the passenger rear. I placed a Jeep extended bump stop to work with the Jeep spacer on the stock shock and spring. I also 'released' the parking brake from it's holders on the frame and gained 1.5-2" of further droop at the tire. My measurements are at home, but equate something like 5" more in shock extension to get full droop (spring distance to be 18"). And this full droop is with no tire, no shock, no spring, loosend parking brake, other tire on ground and the rear brake line tight. Under full compression of the same scenario, the bump stop compressed fully into the raised block, the spring distance is 8" so this provides 10" of spring travel. Again, no weight on axle, other tire sitting on the ground. Real world will provide better numbers. Took some pics and info.
