Soft-top window slashed
« on: September 16, 2004, 02:42:41 AM »
I purchased a new soft-top about 6mos. ago and some creep just cut the side window.  Paid about $300.00 for the top from Chevy, go back to purchase a side window and the cost is almost the price of the whole top.  so I try on line w/same results-RIP-OFF.
I can't have a new plastic window installed because they cut the fabric.
Is there any special tape etc that I can use, I'm about to get nuts over this.
Thanks!

You can take it to an upholstry (sp?) shop and they can stitch it for you. They also can seal the stitch for you ;D

Any decent shop should be able to fix it. I priced a replacement rear window last year and they were well over $100. I took it to a local shop and got it fixed for $40.00. Looks the same, just doesn’t say Bestop in the corner. ;)
