budget lift questions.
« on: September 15, 2004, 01:21:23 PM »
i am sure there is a few people who know who i am already (titan) and hate me and i will probably be rebanned as soon as ebewly sees this thread but, i need to ask you a question , i dont wanna start shit i just want a yes or no answer and i will leave as soon i find it out O.K.?

well i got a 2 door  manual tracker 2 weeks ago and am doing heathers budget lift and i was wondering if i can put a hockey puck, ( or something like it) on top of the blocks to make a 4 inch body lift so i can run 32's. i was also wondering if i put 4 door coils i would gain and extra inch or so.

4" body lift is not a simple thing, you need to
make the spacers to lift it, and a hocky puck
is not going to last or lift what you want

4 door coils will lift a little, but not much, you
need spacers the lift the suspension 3" and
to fab some front strut spacers to get 3" also
you need more than the lift to run 32s  more
like 6" total 3" suspension and 3" body, I have
3" suspension and 4" body, all home built, so it's
not available it has to be made, I built mine before
Calmini offered lifts for the Track/Kicks

i got a swb vitara.

i have got 1" lifted coils, and 2" coil spacers all round.
i did the Box section 3" body lift, similar to Heather's.

i'm 21, and everything on my vitara i've done myself, including dodgy driveway respray. anyway, the 3" BL was a bit difficult for me. there were a few things that had to be changed, modified, extended.

i am now running 31" MT/Rs from goodyear.

personally, i don't like body lifts, as the only good thing(s) about it, is that it make ur vitara look sik, and you can fit bigger tyres. but i had already cut my guards before my BL.

if you do a BL, do it properly!

i have pics if you want to have a look.

agreed i would do it the right way as i have seen body shells move and twist when they come in contact with trees , cars etc.  and getting it back into shape is a cow....

I run 33s but have a Calmini combo 6" with a few changes made afterwards,

i still had to get the front arches and inner arches modified to get them to clear nicley  basically took back the floor pans about 3 inches ,

all i need to do now is sort my geairng out ;-)
