When do you need strut spacers?

Okay, my setup is as follow. Calmini 2" suspension lift. OME 951's in the front. (1.5" of lift from those netting 3.5" of total front suspension lift) 1.5" coil spacers in the rear of the calmini lift (again netting 3.5" of total suspension lift in the rear) DT 3000 shocks and OME struts. I have about 7.5" of the ome struts piston showing with the vehicle sitting level. So, my question is do I need strut spacers and if so how large of ones? I don't want to toast my cv's due to too much down travel, but I think that right now I may have little to no down travel. I can't flex it out right now, because I am in the process of rebuilding the engine. Also, I noticed when installing the front springs when I was trying to compress the control arm via a jack under it, it would only compress the spring/move the control arm up about an inch or so before it started lifting the vehicle off the jack stand. Is that normal? The motor is not in it right now but I would not think that it would weigh enough to make that big of a difference. One last question, can you use a strut tower brace with the strut mounts flipped because I am planning on buying one from ROCKRAT when they get it finished. Thanks for the help.
