Looking for suggestions on a cat & muffler for my build. I need it to pass smog, and I want it to be pretty quiet if possible (it will be used for hunting, so the more quiet the better).

Right now it has nothing, since I took off the stock muffler (straight no cat) for my other build that I don't need to pass smog.

I don't have much access to bend pipe, and weld, etc... So bolt on stuff would be best if possible.

how about one of those cheap weld on mufflers from auto zone?

I just went to the auto parts store and told the guy behind the counter I wanted a muffler as cheap as he could get me....since I would probably smash it or tear it off out in the woods.   I think the one he gave me was 30 bux.   ??   It's the big flat oval kind.  Looks stock.  And probably as queit as you're gonna find too.  Just go that route.  You'll be fine.

Is this for an Sammy/SJ or for a Tracker?

What about catalytic converter? I'm browsing some online, but many talk about OBD and not for sale in california (I'm in california), and these are things I know nothing about. I just know I want it to be street legal.

i have a calmini exhaust and its pretty quiet.

I know nothing about california smog restrictions except that they suck.

also when your all said and done and you want it quieter you could put a turn down at the end so it directs the sound of the exhaust to the ground. we put some on my buddys' mustang. it was cat then muffler and at the end of the muffler was a turn down its alot more quiet then it was originally. also it helps with interior noise.
 
at the dealer alot of the real quiet cars have mufflers and resonators. try to stay away from straight through mufflers

Some 2" exhaust, a 2" generic cat off of EBay, a turbo muffler, and 2 45 degree bends and you are good to go.

Just come off the bottom of your header, go a few feat and put on the cat, go back a bit further and  put a 45 degree bend to point it above your axle, mount your muffler, then a 45 degree bend to point it out the back of your rig along side your gas tank.

If you want to get fancy you can bend it again to come out the side, or to point down underneath your rear bumper.

 Basically Suzukis are pretty quiet even with a glasspack on them when they have a cat.

 If you want a little more durability than just a regular oval type muffler, look for an inexpensive fully welded oval or rectangular muffler. Similar to a Flowmaster. If you go that particular brand, don't go anything more aggressive than a 40 series or you will start getting into louder types of mufflers. A 50 series would be fine.
