We rode out Hurricane Francis and my tracker survived!  Now I am driving through our neighborhoods making it through the debris easily with the 4WD and 235 tires.  These little guys are like the perfect hurricane vehicle.  They are compact enough to park or store anywhere. can be towed behind  another vehicle easily, and can carry up to 8 -  5 gallon gas cans and extra stuff.  Plus when you cant find gas cuz all the stations are down it is comforting to know that you are using only a minimal amount of fuel.  I can get over obstacles and large blocks of building debris that My Tahoe cant!!  I can even pull trees out of the roads if needed while my Police Tahoe cant!   I'm even thinking of making a tow frame for the tracker and towing it and my emergency gear behind the Tahoe!!!

4 weeks ago I was up in the San Jacinto
mountains, and it had rained the day or

bark beetle that is killing all the Pines
and Oak trees, really a sad sight, and
there are crews felling and clearing the
dead trees. This one spot up a steep hill
that a Dozer had been chewing up pulling
trees down from up higher was all muddy
rutted, loose, a boulder sticking up on the
right side of the trail, real bad looking spot,
I figure I'll give it a try and get stuck at the
deep soft spot next to the boulder .....Nope
Cleared that sucker, not even a hesitation
I was very surprised and proud of my Little
Trucklet, She's one very capable machine

My Tracker with the $300 Harbor Frieght winch worked hard before Francis and after.  I am not a lumber jack and can't make trees and limbs fall where I would like them to land.  I haven't been able to get the Tracker stuck in Florida so I figured the winch could be used to pull on limbs and trees.  It worked just great, the Tracker is small enough to manuever around the yard and position to pull the trees without crashing on my dad's house.  I had one limb that was 18" in diameter and even with the brakes locked, the winch pulled the Tracker.  I pulled my motor home up behind my Tracker and used it as an anchor to hold the Tracker.  With the Tracker tied to the motorhome the winch lifted the front of the racker right off of the ground.  A little cutting and a little cracking and down came the limb right where I wanted it.  If anyone is wondering if the Harbor Frieght winch is strong enough, I am sure it would pick the Tracker completely off of the ground.  I have probably got 20 real hard pulls on the winch with no problems yet.

Hey Cocoabeachtracker Im in Satellite Beach!  How are you all doing up that way?  I've been at work in Palm Bay until today and havent seen the rest of the county or the beach yet.  Is the Pier and old downtown OK?  Have you been getting around the area well with the little truck? Hope all is well up that way.  

I parked my samurai on 31's in between my shed and house for the hurricane... had about 2" clearance on each sides friends and family laughed... but it didn't even get hit with leaves.

2 Hurricanes in 2 months has been hard and waiting for #3.  First days off since Charley hit in August.  Anyone know what day this is? What month? What year?

I have a 04 Tahoe which is an emergency vehicle just for disasters with a 5.3 liter Vortec engine and 4" lift.  Great truck to cruise the roads with but couldnt climb a 12" concrete block obstructing a road due to its weight and size.  Went back to the same spot with the Tracker and dropped into low range and climbed that block without a sweat! Just walked right up onto the top, sat back, held up a paw and waited for a treat!

Man I am getting punchy!

dwcrisp.  I live right by the pier and it is still there.  Not too much damage here, of course if it is your house that got creamed it hurts.  I had built a removable plywood rack for the top of my Tracker and it came in handy before the storm.
