Since this is my first post, I'll do a quick intro:
Bought my samurai in mid 1988 (my first vehicle). Paid $7,500 OTD (right after the rollover crap started). 2" bod lift & 29" tires were on in days!
Did some mods in early 1990s, then it's sat for years. I started it up every few years (and it started every time!!!)
Put on 33" BFgs and a calminin 5" SPUA . Rub, rub, rub! this was about about four years ago. then it sat again.
Bringing the little beast back to life, and have some questions, for all you experienced Zuk pilots.
Here's what I need help with:
1. I've looked at ALL the fender flare options and need something about 4-5" off the body. Stockers are 2.750" wide, the Bushwackers are 6"+ (too much). Can't get a hold of Zukboys, so I will not order them unless they are confirmed in stock.
The jeep Sahara/Rubicon flares seem to have the perfect coverage and a nice "squared" look. I've heard that the fronts are too "long/big" to work. If they are "too long", why not just cut them in the middle and glue them back together?
Can someone post some clear pics of this flare on a sammi? And even some pics of the Zukboys flares?
2. The next dilemma: My lift. I have the Calmini 5" kit, with a 2" body lift and 1" shackels in rear. What can I do to get more articulation? anybody experimented?
