quick help with IFS frame drop please
« on: January 09, 2009, 04:35:31 PM »
I'm half way into my 4.5 inch front IFS frame drop, but now that I'm there, should I move it forward too?  It'll involve lengthening the front shaft if I go more then 1/2 inch or so I think.  mine is a 4door 5speed, I heard the auto tranny's have 2 3/4 longer front driveshafts, can anybody confirm?

also, if anyone has pics of how they did the front where the front clip sits, I'd appreciate it.  I remember seeing my friends years ago and it looked factory with a 4 inch drop  I think I'll just put in some spacers and move the bumper a bit higher.  Good time to install my 4000# winch

too cold to carry on right now, it's 8 below freezing and I have no heat, but I intend to start again once the sun comes up tomorrow.

I think the Sammy front driveshaft is longer, plus it has a slip joint. Otherwise, I would look at the back driveshaft from a four door kick.

The auto one is definitely longer, not sure how much.

Why not just use a regular drive shaft spacer? Should work good unless youre thinking of moving it alot.
