VORTEX winches in 6000LB and 5000LB (any good?)
« on: January 13, 2009, 05:02:03 PM »
I found the VORTEX Winches on Ebay there Cheep like $200 US but there like 5000LB and only weigh about 48Lbs

So whats the Catch  ??? Do they fall apart when ya crank on em?

Anyone useing one?
Seems perfect for a Tracker when ya dont need 9000Lbs x 100 LB weight hanging off the front bumper.

Also Runva has a 3500 LB winch but for the extra $50 the VORTEX looks way more Meat and patatoes.

3500lb will move your track/kick/sammi but puts a ton of strain on the winch itself, also it si a good rule of thumb to take the weight of your vehicle and multiply that by 2 to judge what winch you should get..... some people say multiply by 1.5 but wheres the fun in not being able to winch out a stuck cherokee!!?? haha those dont look like bad winch's pick one up and tell us how it is!! hahaha Im looking for some reviews, Ill let you know what I find.
