what model CB radio will fit in the dash if i cut out the lighter. in that spot under the radio where the ash tray is.

anyone know if the cobra 19 DX IV has a mic mounted speaker or unit based... (wondering about throwing one in my kick in that same space (although retaining the cig lighter, got 2 gps that need power...) and need to know if its got a base mounted speaker, nothing on the site)

Little 40 channel midlands are good for this type of a project.

It has a unit based speaker! It has a jack for an external speaker though. Thats all i am doing!

damn. cause i can get ahold of either a dx 19 IV or a 18 WX ST 2 here only. no real places i can find online that sell them locally (dealers) and those 2 are from WALLYWORLD. so they obviously arnt quality.

plus i so want the PA system... would make it a bit more apparnt to other drivers to get out of the way... (those lovely people that stop to have a conversation with another car while in their car)

The 19 does PA and external speaker. And small enough to fit in the ashtray hole.

how hard is it to get it to work properly (noticed it doesnt have swr adjustment (dont know much, but did notice it didnt have it...)
