LOL - great comments guys, keep those 'foolish' questions coming  ;D

Search nazzi sites suck, but so does answering the same question several times a month. With no FAQ on this site, good information is out there in discussions, but a lot of "details" are spread throughout several threads (where 90%+ of the information is the same), and a lot of "data mining" needs to be done to dig out the little nuggets of important info across hand-fulls of similar topics. Hopefully this "series" can help to distill the information a bit, and have one place we can point people towards per topic. Hoping for one of those win/win things.

I think its a good idea, kind of like a "FAQ: please read before posting" section.  Good thinkin.

I can understand why most people dont search.

Ive been a part of many forums and have even modded a few of them.

Some search features wont turn up diddly.

This place's search is actually pretty good for the most part.

It would be a great idea for people to use it.

What about possibly getting the forum set up a bit different. thumpertalk.com for 4-stroke dirtbikes has it set up so you can look at make and model specific threads. I have noticed on ear at times I am looking for things for my samurai and being very new to them it is hard at times to know if the tread will apply to my vehicle. I also think a FAQ permanent thread would be a very good idea with subjects like the original poster mentioned. Just my 2 cents. Either way I think this all will help the forum.

I tried for that two years ago

Separate forums for sami and trackicks

Didnt fly

FAQ stickies are good
But about 50% of new users actually read them

Don't really have an answer for you. I know gear oil is MUCH thicker than ATF. I'm guessing that's for good reason. I'm sure http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/ will have a better answer for you.

my buddy also said taking off my the sway bar will get me more travel in the front end is that true and will it be good for free way driving.

I don't believe you get more travel, but the suspension certainly cycles much easier. When I'm in more rock crawling style wheeling, I'll pop off the bolts at the control arms. It's 2 bolts (you can take the whole say bar off if you'd like, but it's 4 more bolts and you have to store the bar somewhere), and takes about 5 min to do. For high-speed wheeling, I like to leave it on (better stability). I also prefer to have it on during street driving - it makes a big difference. But I'm not running a stock suspension, so that might be why. Try taking the bar off and seeing how you like it. Just take it easy in turns 'till you get used to the feel (there will be more body roll).
