Brake Light
« on: May 19, 2009, 08:28:11 AM »
The brake waring light came on, after replacing the leaking wheel cylinder and refilling the brake fluid the light still stays on. I tried disconnecting the battery, still on. How do I get it to go out??  TShaw

Not sure if zuki's have this, but I had a Raider that had a float in the master cylinder... when it sinks it switches the light on. It stuck down when I replaced a caliper... drove me nuts, bled it 5x checked & rechecked... no air!! Ugh why is the light still on??!! Asked around & someone clued me in to pull up on this float, reached into master cylinder reservoir with an allen key, gave it a slight upward tug... up it came & no more light!!

PS: Just checked on my '96 tracker, you have to pull out the screen under the cap(round disc with an 'x' in the middle) & the float is round & in a round cylinder toward the driver side of the reservoir. Looks like it might be hard to get at, but maybe gently giggle it with a tiny screwdriver & see if it will come up. hth
