Where to find drum brake parts?
« on: May 19, 2009, 12:18:24 PM »
I need to replace virtually ALL the parts inside one of the rear drum brakes on an 87 Samurai.

A wheel lug bolt broke off and came loose, rattling rattled around inside the wheel, breaking the wheel cylinder open and damaging the shoes and the parts that actuate the shoes. I can find wheel cylinders, shoes, retaining parts and springs all over the web but I am not finding the parts that fit between the wheel cylinder and the shoes that actuate them. They were bent / damaged by the loose bolt the point that they won't work....I need ALL of those parts for one wheel.

Any suggestions on where to look for new parts even if it has to be Auto Zone or Checker would be appreciated.  I would prefer to get them from a place that also has other  stuff for the Samurai if possible as I need several misc. other items, speedo cable, window handle, front seats, umbrella top, front bumper to receive a winch, etc. etc.

They set me up with what I need. Thanks!

....now....what is the best bikini top that is inexpensive but not "cheap" quality for an 87 Samurai, stock roll bar and where to buy it?

I never insult.  I do enjoy helping others bring out their inner-offendedness sometimes, though.

However, I did nothing here.  Hawk has built his reputation by making "they set me up with what I need" SOP.  As far as I've ever experienced/heard, the Hawkins' reputation is completely unblemished.  Plus, c'mon; drum parts?  Speedo cable, window handle, front seats, ...?  No brainer.

Now, get off my yard!

Oh, and I don't know nuthin about no bikini tops.  Samurais ain't my thing.  Somebody help the man out.
