Just to let you know, my 87 sammie has an ECM (Its not attached to any thing now sense it doesnt have a Zuk engine in it but some did have ECMs) Bigger tires+1.3 liter+stock gears=less than desirable performance.Changing the gear ratio will bring your performance back. You can do this several ways the most common way is differential gears, another way is through T-case gears.I would prefer T-case gears because first stock 3.73s in the diff would be stronger due to more teeth on the ring and pinion, you are already dealing with small axles no need making another weak link, secound only one item to disasemble, and third you can gain your highway torque and speed back plus have a good crawl ratio. You could also add a second box like a Klune under drive or another T-case to reduce your gear ratio, the problem with adding boxes is you run out of room for your rear drive shaft if you're not careful. Whatever direction you go rember changing things is additive ! Later M.Z.
