swapping in a 2.0 gas engine from a new beetle

I'd like to know if its possible to put a 2.0 liter gas engine from a new beetle into my samurai?
any information and ideas would be much appreciated since I've never done a swap before.

Almost any motor swap is possible.  Do you have the space, equipment (jack stands, jack, engine hoist or chainfall/come along, time, and a mechanical ability to think outside the normal?  Then it gets down to whether it is to your advantage to make the swap, power/cost/desire.  How much HELP do you have, an extra pair of hands, another set of eyes and opinions can be a great asset. 
For a first time swap, just upgrading from conventional engine management to electronic can be a challenge, but more people have done it, so finding answers to the not so obvious is easier.  When changing engine locations or drivetrain styles it can get complicated right off the start.  Having the support of these Forums will definitely make the task easier.  If you decide to go for it, post up what you are doing - years, sizes, make/model photos before and lots of during, and expect comments through the process.  A good build is followed closely by a large portion of board members who have already been there (look at the numbers who consistently read on the hacking of a good looking Samurai body into a TRAILER). 
93 Tracker,XL7 springs & 1" raised spring pads in front with YJ springs in back, home built bumpers rear & front (w/winch), 2" x 4" rock tubes,  ARB front & rear, converted Sami rear to IFS, 33x12.5x15  aluminum rims, roll cage, 2.7L w/5 speed auto.

this is what i've heard so far about this idea.

"this engine will not work. That engine would have the OBDII computer injection which would require a VW transmission and ECU... which obviously would be a no go in the Suzuki. Only carbureted or non computer injected (diesel) engines will work."

so it doesn't sound all that hopeful.

any thoughts? The only reason i was thinking about using this motor was since it was available, but if its that much more work it might be best to wait till i can find something else.
