Breakage from today playing in the mud.
« on: July 05, 2009, 06:02:29 PM »
I was out wheeling in the local spot that I go to every sunday. I was just going thru a hole and it started to clunk pretty loud thought it was the tcase chain because it made the same noise that this did. So I go to the parking lot where my tools and parts are and just change the whole front diff out and after I get it changed I looked at the broken diff and it was cracked pretty good. so here are a few pics.

Dang, some wicked carnage! Did did you get it swapped out ok? Did you drive your rig out? Sounds like an interesting day, to say the least!  >:D

yup i was pulled out of the hole and drove it out of the woods in 4lo it clunked all the way but i was easy on it. then I stopped to talk to some friends and put it in 2wd and went to the parking lot and swapped it out. I knew it was bad there was a lot of play in the driveshaft for a month or so. So i had a spare with me for when it broke but didnt think that was going to be where it broke. I figured it would have been all internal. oh well its not going to be ifs much longer plans are to go sas soon.
