Northwest Prerunners Starvation Ridge 100
Press release/official announcement

First of all let me thank all of you who attended the recent race at Starvation Ridge.  I hope that you enjoyed the challenge. We had a wonderful turnout proving that there is a lot of interest in desert style racing in the NW.  Also, thank you for the valuable feedback you provided during and after the race.
I am pleased to announce that we are once again able to race at the Starvation Ridge track this Labor Day weekend.  Officially this race will be known as the Northwest Prerunners Starvation Ridge 100.

The pits will open Friday Sept 4th at noon.  Racing will start Saturday Sept 5th with a UTV race at 12:30pm followed by Buggies racing Sunday morning at 8am and Trucks at 2pm.

This race will be similar to the last one, however we are making some changes to make the race more fun, more fair, more competitive, and more safe.
The race will consist of 9 laps around a course that is roughly 11 miles long.  The course is rough, twisty, and challenging but can be negotiated by a stock 4x4 with 31 inch tires.  Vehicle will start at 30 second intervals and their total time to complete the laps will be calculated off their start time.  We will allow 5 hours for each vehicle to complete the course after which time you will DNF.
The race will be held on the same track as last time.  We have done away with the hot pits. The track is being extended a little so the race course will travel down the center of the main pit row.  This will allow people to pit for as long as needed to make repairs during the race without hindering the progress of other racers.   The speed limit down pit row will be 5 MPH.
The start line is being changed from the last race to allow vehicles to blast off the start rather than idling through the pits first.

Please read through the safety rules.  We are making an effort to have a safe set of rules while still making them easy for people to abide by.  The Tech inspectors will not make compromises to your safety.   If you have any questions about the rules please contact one of the Tech Inspectors listed at the bottom of this page.
There will be two opportunities to prerun the course.  You must be a registered racer to prerun and course speed will be limited to 25 MPH during this time.

Vehicle recover from the course will be handled by course workers.  They will be able to tow you into the pits or onto an access road at the halfway point of the race course.  The course recovery vehicles will be available by CB, 2 meter, and cell phone.  You cannot chase your own vehicle and doing so will be cause disqualification.

The pits will open on Friday.  Cost to enter is $10.00 per person for the entire weekend and camping is allowed.  No open fires are allowed.   You can stay until Monday if you wish.

Several spectating areas will be available where many areas of the course can be viewed.  An escort vehicle will guide people to the viewing areas.

It is our goal to offer the best race we can.  I am sure that, like all races, this one will offer you stories for years to come.  I hope to see you there.
David Capell

I should have Sunday an Monday off, unless I get called into work.  So I'll be out there to cheer you on at the very least.  :)
