2000 Vitara 1.6L engine Questions
« on: August 06, 2004, 04:42:54 AM »
A friend just picked up a 2000 model Vitara.  We looked it over and got it running yesterday.  Runs great 56K But Rolled Hard & total loss.  This engine looks to more closely resemble the 2.0L then the Mid 90's 1.6L 16v.

Will the 2000 1.6L swap into the Sammy and bolt to the Sammy Flywheel, Trans, and frame with the Standard 1.6L adapter kit.

This engine, late model 1.6, has the large Manifold with Pre cat, intake plumbing and filter box on the passenger side, two ignition coils on the valve cover, 5-link rear suspension.  All very cool stuff but all different from what I'm used to.

It is a 1.6L But it looks nothing like the 1.6L in my 1996 Tracker.
