O.k. so I fired up the Kick and the idle was so low it just about stalled. I recently drove until my tank was almost dry, so I figure I sucked in some water or other stuff and clogged my fuel filter. I'm replacing the filter tommorow on my day off, but my question is, do I have to pull my fuel injector to make sure its A-o.k? I think everything will be fine once I change the filter (I wasted half a tank of gas going to and from work yesterday) but I just wanted to check some opinions on what I should do!

If your '91 has the throttle body injection like my '90, you can pull the air tube off and see the pattern the injector sprays.  If you can and the spray isn't a nice conical shape, then there's a problem.

you can use a timing light to check the spray pattern of the injector. Like Jerry said, a conical shape with very small droplets, almost a mist is ideal

Changed the filter just now, I couldn't sleep! My wife is all pissed off because now I smell like gas   Anyway, I checked the pattern and everything is like you say, 'conical and misty' as far as I can tell. I got some new plat. plugs when I picked up the filter, so I'm going to do those in the morning to complete the small tune-up. Thanks guys for the tips on the injector!

On page 6E2-C2-15 of my '90 service manual, it says:

"if fuel is not injected in conical shape, replace injector" and "for fuel leakage from injection after injection is stopped; replace".

I'd try some fuel injector cleaner first.  I can't imagine it'd do the injector any good, but I've also shot the inside of the the throttle body with carb cleaner, just to try to keep things nice and clean in there.

Yep, Jerr's right. Get a new (or new to your rig) injector.

I'd try some fuel injector cleaner first.

Even using it from time to time can help reduce the chances of one going.
