air intake sensor mod hp boost, does it work?
« on: August 05, 2004, 01:39:27 AM »
on e-bay someone is selling a modification to boost hp up to 20 horse....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7913945216&category=33597

Has anyone tried it & where does it connect?

Can it do any damage?

If no change is made in driving habits, will it boost mpg as well?

Joe, i'm not trying to burn you here or anything, this is just to highlight the over all opinion of everyone here so you don't waste your 20 bills.  Look up the umpteen posts made about those dumb things in the last month or so and you'll see that they are a BIG WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.  Nothing more than an inline resistor that "fools" your motor into thinking its supposed to run harder than it has to.  Even if it did work the way they claim it does, I personally don't think they'd do anything anyhow.  Lots of other things you can do to your Zuk for around $20, with a ton more benefit.  Happy Muddin' , man.

Here's a link to one of the previous threads... http://www.zukiworld.com/cgi/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=suzuki_talk;action=display;num=1091505597

I posted my experience there; hope it helps.

thanks guys... like they say, if it's too good to be true, it probably is.  The only thing I did to my kick was put in a K&N.
I am also thinking of changing to full synthetic oil. You say that there are a few ways to help mph & hp without getting too crazy or expensive,  may I ask how?  or could you point me in the right direction?  I searched for info before posting my thread, but came up empty.  I'm getting 27 hwy, 21 city with a 1.6 l 16 valve.  Can I hope to get better?
