Death to the clutch fan!!!!!
« on: October 02, 2009, 11:40:36 AM »
So i figured with the body lift im gonna get rid of the Clutch fan.

Anyone know of a setup for push pull ( i have ac so push is there) for your radiator? I was hoping to find a pull fan that fits inside the stock fan shroud. Anyone have any ideas?????

ALSO!

I did some math and the stock alternator is absolutely fail with all these electronics going into this rig. I could use some advice on a Ambulance package maybe? Or just an ungodly monster for an alternator.

Your best bet for the alternator would probably be a GM Altenator upgrade.  How large of an alt do you need to step up to?

If it is just for temporary hits against your electrical system you might be able to get away with just switching to a dual battery setup.

I ran my full setup last night:

Compressor
Friends Identical stereo setup
2 Acc lights
All stand lights
a single optima red cap
stock alt and hooked up
i temp wired in a toyo Doulbe silencer 600 cfm fan pull system he hadent installed yet and it would even idle.

* i know not all of these things wont be on at the same time but i dont want to have to worry about it either*

Ill have to look into the GM alt (im guessing single wire right?) and ill use a double battery anyway. One in parallel at the rear near the cap and amp. I should be sound by then.

We'll see.

just go to the wrecking yard and pick up a ford Taurus two speed fan for under fifty bucks (1993) and it will cool a big block Chevy but it is about five and a half inches thick at the back of the motor to the front of the blades, don't for get to get the relay for it or get a new one or wire up two regular relays if needed for high but I doubt that you would need it. if you get to crazy on the pull on your pulley look and see if it could slip the rubber part of it that they use for harmonics. your timing mark could be off when timing it.

93 4D 16v Kick Alt will definately fail the stockers are barely enough to run the power options lol

Check out Lowrange, then have a nice flex-a-lite fan it.  I'm currently running it on my samurai right now and it works amazing.  It has an adjustable thermostat, so you can set it to come on at different temps.

On my samurai, with heater, high beams, and fan running my charge light will kick on.

Has any one tried the fan from Suzuki Racing Development?  It says it is good for turbo Swifts and is $70.
