Tin Top Tracker rear door
« on: October 24, 2009, 07:06:29 AM »
Hey all, the rear door on my 95 tt makes a " clacking" noise whenever I hit a sharp edged bump, or over stutter bumps in the woods. I'm pretty sure the hinges are getting a bit loose. Anybody ever attempted to tighten them up, and how?

Try adjusting the rubber bump stops that the door closes against first so they put a little pressure against the door when closed, see if that helps at all.

x3 on this... I had the same rattle, & i HATE rattles. Tried to get the striker loose with PB Blaster & an impact driver... cursed... cursed more... let it soak, cursed more... then looked at the round rubber bumper thingy just below the latch (on the gate). "Hey look, that's on a eccentric!!'. Loosened its bolt, turned it slightly... took a couple tries, but now its nice & snug... no more rattle!! The door takes a little more 'tug' to open now, & little more 'umph' to close, but I like that much better than the rattle. Hth.

thanks guys, I have done that in the distant past, guess it needs another tweak! I'll give it a shot and let ya know how it worked out.
