I ran full coverage for a long time, then switched down when I was between jobs and haven't switched back up again.  I need to contact them and see if I have full coverage if they will cover the new motor on top of the vehicle price.  :D

I run full coverage on all my rigs because oddly enough it's cheaper...yup and I don't understand how it can be but it's about 2/3 of the price. Since the vehicles are older they want appraisals every two years or a signed paper saying that I'll settle for $1000 if I write it off.

As for the classic insurance I checked into this and the company around here will no cover any vehicle with mods and won't cover if the vehicle comes off the road. to the shows and back and a drive here and there. I've got classic on my LJ but that has not gotten dirty since last year and it's got chrome rims now. I think I put about 100km's on it this year....$226 for the year for insurance.

The companies around here are getting very strict...any mods and the coverage is not valid...report the mod and they cancel you. what would you do?

A few years back we rolled a Jeep in the woods and he knew that his insurance wouldn't cover it...we hauled it a few miles and put it over the bank into the ditch...calleed  the cops and tow truck. He was covered

me concern is that  my company  would just   high ball the book price . as such , even minor  body dammage  could end up  totaling the car . i had that happen once before  on a jeep .
i rebuilt a 53  willies. a girl  rear ended me and crunched one of the fenders . repair cost and pint were over 1000. my deductable was 500 and the IC  said blue book was less then my deductable

thank you all for your replies. With the prices and work that  go into our rigs  I would like to have mine replaced with a like  vehicle if something bad were to happen . Not start all over again

Make sure that your insurance coverage covers aftermarket equipment that was installed.  Then keep a copy of all your receipts or at the very least a complete list of all items installed so you can reference costs if something should happen.  Check with your insurance rep to see what they require for compensation.
