91 softtop tracker lift
« on: October 30, 2009, 07:51:52 PM »
so i was thinking on getting the zukination kit, but after reading every forum and every post that dealt with lifts, looking at springs and spacers that other ppl used (and i would like to stay away from spacers) i seen that someone (and i dont remember what site) used mercedes W123 springs in front, and Audi 80 springs in the rear, and got a lift 2"-3", anyone hear of this combination? or know someone running it.. from what i can remember it has nice flex in the arse but no so much in the front.. which doesnt concern me to much. but i dont wanna invest my money(which is slim) in getting the springs if there not gonna work. and i never read what they were running for struts or shocks.. any input?

I dont know about the spring you ask about but I would like to say I just bought strout extenders, flipped my strut mounts and went with boondox 3 inch lift springs for a 4 door tracker and put them into my 2 door tracker.  I also found some cheaper shocks at local stores and saved alot of cash doing it all this way.   I loved my tracker but recently got rid of it after a couple years of running it this way to go back to a samurai.

I dont think they are still in biz, but I was just using my build as a reference that you dont need to buy a whole kit unless of course its a good deal.  You can buy the springs and everything individually on its own for much cheaper I would think if you searched.  I know I did. :)

ive been looking alot.. and there are so many options and thats the prob so i need someone to just tell me. lol, and the reason for me not wanting to put in spacers is, that here in Nova Scotia the new inspection law apperently states that any vehicle lifted or lowered over 2 inches must be approved by an engineer, and i figured if i get either longer spring/or zukination/calmini kit they might not even question it.
