1990 Suzuki sidekick / Stock
I checked the rear diff fluids and changed them...all is good. My rear bearings are good, Just checked. My friend said I have a bit too much play in the drive shaft. He said there may be too much play in the splines or something else. The noise slows down as I go slower and visa versa.
Is this something that i could tackle myself for a newbee. I try ed looking around for a step by step but i could not find any. Pictures do help. I looked all over the sites and found one but was for a sammy.
Any help would be nice.

Agree, here but if it turns out to be something much worse like blown gears in the diff.  You can do it youself I did mine for the 1st time by just reading alot of info on some of the zuk sites, getting right specs/tools, and taking my time.  Now Ive done a few with ease.

I'm getting the new tires and rims put on today, I'm hoping that there is a slight chance that it could be my old rims or tires, so I have held off for now on buying anything for the diff. The guy before had the aluminium rims just cranked down, could be warped or the tires are crap. here's hopin.

Worn tires, especially if they are scalloped can make ALOT of noise.
