Project today: Build a sub box
« on: July 15, 2004, 03:23:33 PM »
Todays project was originally to build a box for my speakers. Of course, I got bored with that pretty quickly, and noticed the alluring sawzall just sitting there, so I took pity on it, having not tasted metal in a while, and this is what I ended up with:

Next: Sealing everything back up with the home fabricator's favorite material choice: Plywood ;D

All in all, it's been a very busy night, and this project has only begun. When I get a chance to run into town, I'm going to pick up a gallon of bedliner... won't even be able to tell it's been ghetto-rigged all to hell :P ;D

You could go to a boneyard and get a tailgate assy from a conv. and a duster tonneau and your set, sweet man!

That's what I'm doing when the rain lets up tonight ;). That plywood tailgate was a temporary thing for today to keep all my shiz in the back of the truck from falling out.

I also have a rollbar/spare tire rack deal planned out in my head... the spare tire will mount at a 45* angle on the downpipe thingers on the rollcage, and flip out to reveal a small cargo space (for a small cooler or something).

And the storage area will be water tight when I'm through. ;D

Speedracer: I absolutely hate hardtops, yet I own two. I would've much rather had a convertable, but the deals I found on the two I have were much better than I could find for convo's of the same years :-/
