Yeah, money is always the concern with me. It's like my computer speakers. I picked up some parts from a garage sale and went to Costco and bought a sub and some sats for 50 bucks. 3 hours later with a little elbow grease and a lot of brass points and pieces, I had a setup that pounded harder and sounded better (human ear cap) than my $4000 entertainment setup on my t.v.
Any audiophile can achieve great SQ with a little imagination. Seriously, things like brass pegging (more common in HT) keep the energy where it should stay!

for alot of people the noise outside is only a sideaffect of the quality inside..when u step into my car u hear no rattles...all u hear clear sound and massive massive bass..u can hear rattles on the ourside of the car simply because i dont give a shit what other people think when i drive by..i did not do it for them..but the loud bass does help when i get people like u that give me dirty looks for enjoying my music..
Hey man, I wasn't attacking 'you' for buying overpriced gear to enjoy your techno funk or rockabilly music. I'm just saying that I like setups that wash over you, not cause you to have a bowel movement. All you hear is clear sound and massive massive bass?? Give me a break man, the human ear/brain can only take so much. Try turning up your volume to max and try that out... then plug your ears and get a taste of what your ears are missing out on. If you can't admit that you've bought into the bigger is better concept to show up your friends or impress chicks, you have a long way to go in understanding what sound quality really is. By the way, did you pay for all that stuff yourself, or did someone (like your opinion) provide it for you?
