Living in Florida I don't know much about snow... But from what I've seen the wider the better in snow. I would think you're just fine. Only snow problems I've heard from people with wide tires are guys running boggers and other really aggressive treads that dig too much for snow.

I have had my samurai with 31x9.50's any where from 7 to 12 feet of snow with 20 psi in them, they are the at ko's  with 4 or 5 psi they would prob. do even better ;D on my other sammy i'm running 31x 10.50 tls's and had them out in the snow three weekends ago going over six foot snow drifts tryed with 9 pounds of air but had to go down to 5 pounds on them and continue to let air out as we climbed the mountain on the way to the top, so some times the more agressive tread is worse. a guy with me was running 33 mtr's and did not spin a tire onece.

I like bigger tires in snow. They are worse at higher speeds in the slushy stuff because they will pull like your running in rutted pavement when you hit rows of slush. But at slow to moderate speeds their great to keep you going.

We usually ony get a few decent snows a year here, but when we do it it's usually a layer of ice with a few inches of snow on top of it. So the higher speeds dont come into play much around here, unless you like to wreck on ice :P.

Hmm I just do not want some tires that are all over the road in the winters here cause there is always snow on the roads. And i do not want to crash again lol.

Well, I'm from Grande Prairie and thats as North in Canada as I've lived and we get a hell of a lot of snow here. Not only that, but the wind blows you off the road if it can. I'd say your looking good with that upgrade. Honestly, anything is better than those old 235/75R15. Deep tread isn't the best option for snow, but who speeds on snow and ice?? The width will do you good, thats for sure. I still have a set (in case of a 'new' Sidekick coming my way) and I cringe everytime I look at 'em. I've been in some scary slides and I hope I never have to put those on again. Look at it from the perspective I did after looking at all the facts: Hmmm, more road noise for some more traction... thats good. You seem like the on-road type (like myself) and let me tell you, you won't be disappointed! BFG has some nice looking tires and they are going to be more reliable than what you have now! You are selling your other tires so at least it won't be a bite to your pocketbook either! Do it man! How much are you selling those tires and rims for?

MY personal experience with BFG AT's in the snow, THEY SUCK!!! They don't clean out if your driving in wet sticky snow and they end up just being like a racing slick, I'd shy away from them if you plan on running them year round. Just my opinion...

first of all, lets be serious for a minute, bigger tire are better for off roading, not for snow and ice. You want a norrower tire for snow so it can cuts through it. With a bigger tire, it will stay on top of the snow making it more slippery, because you won't have road traction. With a norrower tire, It will cut a path in the snow, making it safer because you will have more traction on the road sufface. Thats a fact, the best way to go for snow and ice is a norrower tire. it's ever worse for a small light weight rig. What i do is i run 225 in the winter, and take off the bigger onces. If you don't belive this, cantact your local tire shop. see what they say. Just my opinion. by the way i'm from a place that gets alot of snow, during the winter i live in Northbay Ontario.

I plow my driveway with a 1/2 ton chevy short box with 31/10.5 BF All Terrain TA's on it.  They are HANDS DOWN THE BEST TIRE FOR TRACTION IN THE SNOW I've ever used.  I live in the ski-snow belt south of Buffalo, NY so I get a lot of snow too, and my driveway is 530 some yards long.  A Sammi is lighter, but traction wise I still think the BF's are the best.

I run 31X10.50 Wrangler MTR's on the Gnewt.  They leave a little bit to be desired on ice (siping would help a LOT, but they wear a bit quicker).  But then again, I live at 9,000 feet in the Rockies, and drive nasty little twisty roads all winter.  They do better than my daily driver (4-door Kick) with Bridgestone Dueller AT's.
