anyone ever see this armrest before
« on: February 15, 2010, 02:21:41 PM »
I found this online.  Says it is a console/armrest that fits into the rear pocket on the existing center console on a 89-94 tracker/sidekick. Has anyone seen this, what do I need to know to find one of these.  Says it will also fit 95-98 with minimum modifications. I really need to find this.

I used to have one exactly as pictured. The lower portion goes into the OE center console after removing the small storage compartment locsted at the back of the handbrake lever. You need to make sure that the handbrake console box is firmly secured and mounted to avoid any unwanted squeaking noise.

Yeah supposedly this was a dealer option.  That's why i was surprised, I had never heard of it before myself.

E-bay has them from somewhere overseas. At least they were listed there last week.

Price was about $6 with a $40+ dollar shipping charge. Still cheaper than the $200 quoted above, or extensive searching through junk yards.

Here is a LINK for them but they are slightly different. These are for an SX model. They slide into 2 compartments vs 1. They also don't appear to be as wide either.
