Oil Filling Up with Fuel! Help Me! (93 Tracker)
« on: February 17, 2010, 03:24:03 PM »
I have a 93 Tracker, 4wd with fuel injection.

My oil level rises as I drive the tracker. It is definitely fuel. I know this is terrible for the engine.

Why is it doing that, and what do I do about it?

Thanks.

you either have a fuel injector that is stuck open, or leaking, or something of that sort.   probably a good idea to park it until you figure out whats going on and fix it.

Is the engine running OK? there really isn't a place for the fuel
to get into the crank case. This is very strange, if it were a Carb
model it would be the fuel pump.

Have you redone the vacuum lines or done any other work on
the Track/Kick lately???

Stop driving it if you can. You will ruin the bearings for sure. Ask me how I know....

the same way I know.  experience I"m sure.

my money is still on leaking injector, and PROBABLY a misfire on one cylinder becuse of it.    definitely a good idea to park it until you can find the cause, if possible.

A dripping injector, after the engine is off, if the intake filled
enough to run into 1 or more cylinders and then leak thru into
the oil, but how much residual pressure is left? surely not
enough to do this kind of damage, but there really isn't any
other way for gas to get into the oil. That's why I asked how
well it was running

Check that the return pipe to the fuel tank isn't blocked.
