why do you want an overweight wench?   they dont do anything useful.     a WINCH on the othr hand..... will usually prove handy.

One of the more recent 4 Wheel Off Road magazines had a winch chart that listed weight and size for the most common winches, it as a pretty good chart.  If your looking for something that will pull you up a hill every few months I say go with the standard 9000 pound winch from Harbor Freight or wherever you find it cheap.  If your looking for something that will recovery you quickly then you need to start looking at spending the money on a Warn or Superwinch.

twice the weight is good. but its usually easier and cheaper to get an 8000lb winch. overkill, but whats wrong with that...

You are wasting your money on anything less than twice the vehicle weight.  Spend the extra dough for an 8000 pound winch.

As Drone637 sez, the latest issue of 4 Wheel Ofroad has an excellent article on winching.

Also, do a search for winch (yet another reason to spell winch correctly!) at Ack's FAQ (The link is in my signature) for some excellent article on winch useage.

I hope that this helps!

of course if you meant this kind of "wench" :  "wench definition

wench (wenc?h)
noun
   1. a girl or young woman: now a derogatory or jocular term
   2. Archaic
         1. a country girl
         2. a female servant
         3. a sexually loose and immoral woman"

then you might want to find a six foot or taller one if you want her to help you move the Zuk some.

You can get a harbor freight 8000 lb winch for $299
$20 more than their 5500 lb winch for $279, I would
go with the bigger one unless you are tight on room
for the bigger winch.

I just got their add last night in the mail   :)
