Air bag indicator light on
« on: April 09, 2010, 09:00:53 PM »
My rig, a 2001 Grand Vitara 2.5 V6 AT was submerged in a typhoon last October. The driver side airbag/clockspring indicator light lit up and was found out to be defective using the Tech II scanner. We replaced the clockspring and horn pad. Upon checking again, it is now the passenger airbag was found out to be defective as shown in the Tech II reading. My unit comes with the front seatbelt pre-tensioners. I understand that the Tech II does not specify what particular problem being manifested by the air bag indicator light, just merely indicate left or right side airbag. Incidentally, the airbag module was found to be damaged and was a lso replaced with a brand new unit.

Can anybody help me diagnose and correct said problem. The fault can be erased using the Tech II but comes back again after cranking the engine on the third time.
