Toyota axles
« on: April 22, 2010, 02:02:50 PM »
I `ve been hearing about people swaping out stock samurai axles for toyota truck axles.
Is there any particular year toyota I want to look for ?
Will theese axles make the samurai more stable ?
Will the toyota axles bolt on or do I have to do some modifying to install them ?
Im new in the Samurai world  , I`ve always had Jeeps but my son wanted to build a father /son project and he has been wanting a samurai since he was 3 , now at 15 we are starting on one.
My biggest concern is the rollover issue i`ve herd so much about.

The roll over issues was a bunch of hype brought out by CR... They FORCED the samurai to roll by putting it through many passes at faster speeds and tighter turns.. Samurai's wont be as stable as a sports car, but in normal driving situations this is not a problem.

The Toyota axles will be much stronger that the stock Samurai axles and I believe they are a little wider. There are many companies that can sell you a kit to do the swap (check out our vendors listed to the right of the main page). I have Toyota axles under my tracker and they hold up great with 37 (mine have upgraded axles and birf joints too).
