Transforming a Tracker to Vitara...
« on: May 05, 2010, 08:44:59 AM »
Hey everybody!

We just got a hold of a 2000 Tracker and are going to do some minor mods on it, for now. The first thing I'd like to do is to de-tracker it and put Suzuki parts on it. We've put on a set of XL7 wheels and tires and I'd like to change the grill and headlights to the Vitara style.

Has anyone done this?

Does anyone on the west coast have a set of headlight and/or grille they'd like to part with?

Thanks, Eric

There is a guy on cardomain that put a late yr 1st gen XL-7's front clip on his GrandVit. There's also a guy on there that put a GrandVit's front bumper skin, light's and grill on a Tracker. Then there's another on there that put a GrandVit's front bumper skin only on his Tracker. All looked killa!  ;)

I don't think that's a Grand-Vit - the rear doors on my GV are way shorter than that.

Eric, The Radiator Support for the Tracker and the Vitara are the same for the aftermarket parts the fenders are the same.
I would have changed to a vitara front end after my accident but the parts were more so I stayed with the Tracker parts.
the only differences I found was the shape of the headlights and grill witch fit into the same opening.

So, I've been looking at some pictures and is it me or will I have to change the bumper skin too? It looks like the tracker grill has a bulge in the center where the vitara is straight...

I may be wrong, but I just looked at my XL-7 and my Tracker and the hood is different, the Tracker has a bulge in the center, the XL-7 dips down in the center. At least that what our looks like.
