i was thinking since ive destroyed my 512 tracker front why not use a tracker rear center section and use samurai axle tubes and knuckles has anyone tried this i know the gears would be going reverse but it is offroad only

ummm, why would you do that  as you said before the gears would be going the wrong way so yor front and rear diffs would be pushing against eachother. also, i may be wrong but i believe that the splines in front and rear axles are differant

Gears would be fine actually, they will only be going the wrong way if you flip the carrier upside down.

This has been done before, the only down side is you will need to run heavy duty front axle shafts due to the larger splines used in the rear diff.

The only issue I can think of is that you will loose some ground clearance with the larger center diff.  I'm also wondering why you blew up the front diff first, are you using a hybrid rear?  Usually the front is the last to go unless the gears were never setup right to begin with.

i do have chromoly shafts . my gears were not what initaily let go i have awelded front and was climbing a steep rocky hill both front tires came down in a large crevis at the bottom of a 3foot  wall . needles to say my 34" ltbs stopped dead but the engine didnt the housing cracked around the pinion i heard it but didnt stop  to look backed up and hit it again at which time the pinion ractheted against ring gear. was going to put in a toyota front but 5.12 gears are not avialable for toyotas and i dont have a rear . i can get another tracker rear and i have 2 spare samurai front axles. so i was thinking of going that route

Brent at Trail Tough sells or used to sell a front end that has a Sidekick 7.5" center section w/Samurai tubes, axles, and outers... It's call the little Suzanna I think... It's been awhile but I know they're out there and I've wheeled with people that have had them...

In looking at your post a couple of things jump out though... First, you welded on the third to spool it up. I know this is a poplular mod and lots of people do it but it's only a matter of time after the lincoln locker job until a failure. So, I'd suggest getting a locker for the front.... The next thing is the situation you were in. You now know what you did and how it broke your front end. So, if you stay away from that situation or modify how you react to it slightly you may not have this trouble anymore. I'm not saying this is you but for me when I first started out, I was breaking parts all the time by just putting my vehicle in poor situations and reacting to them incorrectly. After awhile I began to recognize certain situations and changed my approach which led to far less breakage and more enjoyment...

thanks for the info ive been wheeling for yrs this sammy for the past 6 yrs with 31's with little or no breakage but i moved up to 34's and i welded the gears becuase these axles are only going to be in there for this season im switching to either toyota or dana 44's this winter when i put in my yj springs and 1.6 16 v tracker motor

Where you running the aluminum diff in the front or a steel one?

So you cracked a steel housing?

yes it may have been damaged before i put the gears in i hit a stump hard enough last yr hard enough to cave the pumpkin so hard it push the lock bolt on the bearing cap clean through the cover and actualy bent my front housing

Might be related. 

even so i have another stock steel front housing but not sure if i trust it to run 5.12's and 34 like to go the rest of the season without breaking another diff

Did you destroy the gears as well or just the carrier?

it chipped most of the teeth as it came apart

Weld them up, go wheeling again. 

One of the club Sammy's lost 4 teeth in a row on a set of 5.89 gears.  My cousin's shop is used to repairing gears for tractors, welded new teeth on for us and they have worked fine since.  What is the worst that can happen, they break again before you swap the axle back out?
